Mark 9:23
I had been pastoring the Belmonte First Baptist Church for eight years. It was a excellent experience, I could development so much my ministry. That was my first experience how Senior Pastor. It happened in january 2004-2011. I left Rio de Janeiro to go to a small city, at south from Bahia state. A place only twenty thousand residents.
When I arrived there, the temple was very ancient and poor, but I fell in love for that place, I saw what I could do there. Without a doubt, that was my biggest challenge of my entire life. The members of church, in most, were old and poor. For this reason, the entries of money were very few. But, those people were true worshipers, they had a lot of faith. So, the Lord multiplied the Church's money.
My main challenge was to make the church grow, mainly bringing young people and building a new temple for the church. We realized so much programs to get atention from them. We hold services on the squares, with the good bands, contemporary songs, sale of good food on the street, and other things. In the service on the temple, we trained new band with youngs. This attracted many other youngs. We used the theater to show movies and sale food during the presentations: cakes, popcorn, juice, soda, candy.. All those money gained was to used to start the building new temple. That was so much important to all city. Many people gave contribution to help us. Many people who had never visited our temple before, gave money to help us building the new God's House.
The new temple was magnificent. It was five times larger than previous one and so much prettier. Everyone could see the action of God in there small city. The people had absolutely sure and conviction that God's good hand was with us. One small church, with few and poor people, could grow and building a big temple to worship God.
We believed that "all things are possible to those who believe Him", the consequence was that we saw the manifesting glory of God, in everything that we did there. Today, I have a feeling of accomplishment, and it is very good.
